Look for the bus route that heads towards the outskirts of town, specifically the route that goes towards the Bridger Canyon area. Get on the bus heading towards the Bridger Bowl. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Bridger Bowl stop. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles northeast along Bridger Canyon Road. Follow the road until you see signs directing you to Gallatin National Forest.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Bozeman. Once you have your bike, start from downtown Bozeman and head east on Main St. Continue until you reach N 19th Ave, then turn right. Follow N 19th Ave until it merges into Bridger Canyon Road. The ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Pedal along Bridger Canyon Road, keeping an eye out for signs that lead to Gallatin National Forest, which will be on your right side.

    If you're up for a longer trek, you can walk to Gallatin National Forest from downtown Bozeman. Start at the intersection of Main St and N 7th Ave. Head north on N 7th Ave until you reach the intersection with E Oak St, then turn left. Continue walking until you reach N 19th Ave. Turn right onto N 19th Ave and follow it north until it merges into Bridger Canyon Road. From there, walk for about 2 miles until you see signs for Gallatin National Forest on your right.
