Hiking
To reach Grinnell Falls from the Many Glacier area, start at the Many Glacier Hotel. Follow the Grinnell Glacier Trail, which is well-marked and starts just behind the hotel. The trail is approximately 7.6 miles one-way, leading you through stunning landscapes, including meadows and forested areas. You'll pass by scenic views of Swiftcurrent Lake and the surrounding mountains. After approximately 3 miles, you will reach the first viewpoint of Grinnell Glacier. Continue on the trail, which eventually descends to Grinnell Falls. The sound of the waterfall will guide you. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as this is a full-day hike. The total elevation gain is about 1,600 feet, so be prepared for a strenuous trek.

If you are starting from the Grinnell Lake Trailhead, follow the trail leading from the parking area. The trail will take you through dense forest and along Grinnell Lake. After about 1.5 miles, look for signs directing you to Grinnell Falls. The trail can be steep in places, but the views of the lake and the falls are worth the effort. As you approach the falls, the trail will provide several viewpoints for photo opportunities. This hike is approximately 3 miles round-trip. It’s advisable to wear sturdy hiking shoes and check the weather conditions before heading out.
