From downtown Whitefish, head north on Central Avenue. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Baker Ave. Turn left onto Baker Ave and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will then turn right onto East 4th Street. Continue straight until you reach the Whitefish Lake State Park entrance, where you can find trails leading to the Reservoir Trailhead.

Start at the Whitefish City Beach. From the beach, bike northeast along the shoreline of Whitefish Lake. Follow the road that curves around the lake, which will eventually lead you to the entrance of Whitefish Lake State Park. Once you are at the park, look for the signs directing you towards the Reservoir Trailhead. The total biking distance is approximately 2.5 miles.

Catch the Flathead County Public Transit (Dial-a-Ride service) from the nearest stop in downtown Whitefish. Request a ride to Whitefish Lake State Park. Once you arrive at the park, follow the signs to the Reservoir Trailhead which is accessible from within the park.
