To reach Fortress Depedogen from Budva, start by heading to the main bus station in Budva, located near the Old Town. Look for the bus that goes to Podgorica, which runs frequently. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic journey which takes about 1 hour. Upon arriving at the Podgorica bus station, exit the bus and head towards the city center. You can either walk or take a local taxi. If walking, head straight down the main road from the bus station until you reach the roundabout. From there, take the first exit onto Njegoševa Street. Continue straight, and you will see signs pointing towards Fortress Depedogen, which is located on a hill.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi directly from Budva to Fortress Depedogen. Taxis are available throughout Budva, especially near the waterfront and main squares. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your trip or ensure the meter is running. The taxi will drop you off at the base of the fortress, and from there, you will need to walk up a short path to reach the entrance.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk to Podgorica from Budva, though this is a long trek of about 70 kilometers and will take several hours. Start by heading out of Budva towards the main road and follow the signs for Podgorica. It’s advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring plenty of water. Once you arrive in Podgorica, follow the local signs toward the city center and Fortress Depedogen, located on a hill to the north of the center.
