If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Nikšić, which is about 30 minutes away from the Zeta River Valley. From Nikšić, take the M6 road towards the village of Dabovići. Follow the signs for Ostrog Monastery. The monastery is located about 12 km from Nikšić. You will see signs directing you to the monastery as you approach. There is a parking area available near the monastery.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Ostrog Monastery via public transportation, take a bus from the Zeta River Valley to Nikšić. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive in Nikšić, you can take a local bus or taxi to reach Ostrog Monastery. The local bus number 6 goes directly to the monastery, but verify the schedule as it may vary. The cost of the bus ride from Zeta River Valley to Nikšić is approximately 2-3 EUR, and the local bus to the monastery costs around 1-2 EUR.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route and convenience, you can hire a taxi from the Zeta River Valley to Ostrog Monastery. Make sure to agree on the fare upfront; it should cost between 15-25 EUR depending on your starting point within the valley. The ride should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.
Walking (from the nearest bus stop)
If you arrive by bus, you may need to walk the last part from the nearest bus stop to the monastery. Follow the signs and paths leading up to the entrance. It is a short hike of about 1 km uphill, taking approximately 15-20 minutes. The paths are well-marked, and you can ask locals for directions if needed.
