Getting There

Walking
From the central plaza of Chefchaouen, known as Outa el Hammam, head east along Rue Hassan I, which is lined with shops and cafes. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the end of the street. At the intersection, turn left onto Avenue Ibn Askar. Walk for another 5 minutes and you will see the entrance to El Mellah on your right, marked by a sign. Follow the signs indicating El Mellah, and you will find the historical site.

If you are near the Kasbah, exit the Kasbah and head south towards the main road. Cross the road and continue straight onto Rue El Aouini. Walk for about 7 minutes until you reach the main intersection. Turn right onto Avenue Ibn Askar. After a short walk of approximately 3 minutes, El Mellah will be on your left. Look for the sign marking the entrance to the site.

If you are coming from the Ras El Maa waterfall, start by walking back towards Chefchaouen town center. Once you reach the main road, turn left onto Avenue Ibn Askar. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, passing by various shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for signs indicating El Mellah on your right side, which should be within sight after about 15 minutes of walking.
