Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the center of Essaouira, head west on Avenue de l'Indépendance towards Rue Youssef El Fassi. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the coastline. You will see signs directing you to Plage d'Essaouira. The beach is easily accessible from the main road. Parking is available along the beachfront, but be prepared for potential fees depending on the time of year. Make sure to have some local currency for parking if necessary.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Plage d'Essaouira by public transport, you can take a local bus or a taxi. From the Essaouira bus station, look for a bus heading towards the beach area. Buses generally run every 30 minutes and the fare is quite inexpensive, usually around 5-10 MAD. Alternatively, you can take a shared taxi (taxi collectif) from the city center to the beach. These taxis operate similar to buses but are faster and more direct. The price for a shared taxi will vary, but expect to pay about 20 MAD per person. Make sure to confirm the destination with the driver before boarding.

• Walking

  If you are already in Essaouira city and prefer walking, Plage d'Essaouira is around 3 km away from the Medina. Start at Place Moulay Hassan, then head down Rue Laalouj towards the coast. Once you reach the beachfront, turn left and continue walking along the promenade until you reach the beach. The walk takes about 30-40 minutes, providing an opportunity to enjoy the coastal views. Be mindful of the sun, especially during midday, and wear comfortable shoes.
