Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Merzouga town, head east on the main road (N13) for about 5 km. Follow signs toward Erg Chebbi. When you reach the turn-off for the desert, turn left onto the dirt road leading to the dunes. Continue for approximately 7 km until you reach the Caravanserai Luxury Desert Camp, located at Erg Chebbi. Note that the last part of the journey involves driving on unpaved roads, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There may be a small parking fee at the camp.

• Taxi

  You can take a taxi from Merzouga town directly to Caravanserai Luxury Desert Camp. Negotiate a fare before starting the trip. The distance is about 12 km, and the ride should cost around 100-150 MAD. Taxi drivers are familiar with the camp, so simply tell them your destination.

• Public Transportation (Shared Taxi)

  From Merzouga town, you can catch a shared taxi (also known as 'grand taxi') going toward the desert area. These taxis leave when full, so be prepared for a wait. The cost is typically around 50-80 MAD per person. Request the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Caravanserai Luxury Desert Camp. From there, you may need to walk or arrange a short ride with a local guide or the camp staff.

• Camel Trekking

  For an authentic desert experience, consider booking a camel trek that includes transportation to the camp. Many local tour operators offer packages that will take you from Merzouga to the camp via camel. This unique experience often costs between 600-1000 MAD per person, depending on the length of the trek and whether meals are included.
