Getting There

Walking

If you are in the city center of Tangier, head towards the Avenue Mohammed VI. Walk straight down this avenue until you reach the coastal road, Boulevard de la République. Turn left onto Boulevard de la République, and continue walking until you see signs for Merkala Beach. The beach is about a 30-minute walk from the center.
Taxi

You can easily find a taxi in the city center. Tell the driver 'Merkala Beach' (you can show them the name written down if you're not comfortable speaking Arabic or French). The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand if you're not using a meter.
Public Bus

From the city center, make your way to the main bus station, which is near Place de France. Look for buses heading towards the beach areas; some buses may have 'Plage' in their destination. Get on the bus, and once you reach the stop closest to Merkala Beach, disembark. The beach will be a short walk from the bus stop.
