Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Tangier Ville train station, exit the station and head south towards Avenue Mohammed VI. Continue straight on Avenue Mohammed VI for about 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue Pasteur. Turn right onto Avenue Pasteur and walk for approximately 600 meters. You will see a large roundabout; continue straight through it. After a short distance, you will find Grand Socco on your left at Pl. du 9 Avril 1947.

From the Kasbah, exit the Kasbah and head down towards the Medina. Look for Rue de la Liberté and follow it straight down towards the main square. When you reach Place du 9 Avril 1947, you will find Grand Socco directly in front of you. This is a pleasant walk through the charming streets of Tangier.

If you are starting from the ferry terminal, you can take a local bus or taxi to the city center. Buses such as Line 1 and Line 3 head towards the Medina. Once you reach the bus stop near the Medina, follow the signs to the main square (Pl. du 9 Avril 1947) where Grand Socco is located. It’s a short walk from the bus stop to the square.
