    Start your journey in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique. Head north on the EN1 highway. Follow the signs for Nampula. After approximately 3.5 hours of driving, you will reach the town of Nacala. From Nacala, take the road towards Ilha de Mozambique (Island of Mozambique), which is about 50 km away. Once you arrive at the island, park your car in designated parking areas and get ready to explore the historic site. Note that there may be a small parking fee.

    From Maputo, you can take a long-distance bus to Nampula. Buses leave from the main bus terminal, Terminal Rodoviário, in Maputo. This journey will take approximately 12 hours, so it is advisable to leave early in the morning or consider an overnight bus. Once you arrive in Nampula, you will need to take a local taxi or chapas (shared vans) to Nacala, which is about an hour away. Finally, from Nacala, you can take a taxi or a local transport service directly to the Island of Mozambique. Be prepared to pay for the bus fare, which varies but generally costs between 500-800 MZN.

    If you're already in Nacala, you can hire a taxi to take you directly to the Island of Mozambique. The drive will take approximately 1 hour, and taxis can be found near the bus station or through local hotels.
