Start from the central area of Maputo, such as Avenida Julius Nyerere. Head east towards Avenida 25 de Setembro. Walk along Avenida 25 de Setembro until you reach Praça 25 de Junho. The Fortress of Maputo is located just next to the fishing port at this square. Look for the large stone structure, which is hard to miss.

Find a nearby minibus stop, preferably on Avenida Julius Nyerere. Take a minibus heading towards the city center (look for signs indicating 'Centro'). Inform the driver you wish to go to 'Praça 25 de Junho'. Once you arrive at the square, the Fortress of Maputo is adjacent to the fishing port, and you can walk over to it.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in the city center. From there, head towards Avenida 25 de Setembro. Continue straight until you reach Praça 25 de Junho.
