Getting there

Walking

If you are in the central area of Matola, start by heading towards the main road, Avenida Eduardo Mondlane. Walk south until you reach the junction with Avenida da República. From there, continue walking south until you reach the Maputo River. You will then need to find a local minibus (chapas) that heads towards Maputo. Board any chapa that has 'Maputo' written on it. The fare is usually quite affordable. Once in Maputo, ask the driver to drop you off near the Tunduru Gardens, which is a well-known landmark. The gardens are located at 2HHF+9H6, Maputo. After getting off, you may need to walk for about 5-10 minutes to reach the entrance of Tunduru.

Public Transport (Minibus)

From Matola, make your way to the nearest minibus station. Look for a chapa going to Maputo. Once you board, confirm with the driver that they will stop near Tunduru Gardens or ask them to drop you off at the nearest point. The ride should take around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Maputo, get off at a stop near the city center. From there, you will need to walk towards the Tunduru Gardens, which is approximately a 10-minute walk. Head east towards Avenida 25 de Setembro and follow the signs to Tunduru Gardens.

Bicycle Rental

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Matola. Travel along Avenida Eduardo Mondlane heading south. Follow the road until you reach the outskirts of Maputo. Be cautious of traffic as you enter the city. When you reach the Maputo River, look for signs directing you to Tunduru Gardens. The cycling distance is around 10 km, and it should take you about 40-50 minutes depending on your pace. Once you arrive, you can park your bicycle at the entrance of the gardens.
