Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in downtown Yangon, head towards Sule Pagoda. From Sule Pagoda, walk down Sule Pagoda Road heading south until you reach the junction with Bogyoke Aung San Road. Turn right onto Bogyoke Aung San Road and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Pyay Road. Shwedagon Pagoda will be visible in the distance. Take a left onto Pyay Road and continue straight until you reach the entrance of Shwedagon Pagoda.

  • Public Bus

    Find the nearest bus stop and look for a bus heading towards Shwedagon Pagoda. You can take bus number 12 or 19. Board the bus and pay the fare (usually around 200 kyats). The bus will take you along Bogyoke Aung San Road and drop you off near the base of Shwedagon Pagoda. Once you get off, follow the signs leading towards the entrance of the pagoda.

  • Taxi (Ride-Hailing App)
