Walking

If you are in downtown Yangon, start by heading to the Yangon Central Railway Station. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch a bus heading towards Okkalapa. You can take bus number 60 or 70, which go directly to Okkalapa. Make sure to ask the bus conductor to let you know when to get off. The journey will take around 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, look for signs directing you to Okkalapa Pagoda, which is just a short walk away.

Public Transport (Bus)

From the Sule Pagoda area, walk to the nearest bus stop and find the bus number 60 or 70, which will take you to Okkalapa. The fare is typically around 200 kyats. Keep an eye on the stops, and disembark when you reach the Okkalapa Pagoda stop. After getting off, follow the signs to the pagoda, which should be visible from the bus stop.

Bicycle

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in downtown Yangon. Head towards the main road leading to the east side of the city. Follow the signs for Okkalapa Pagoda. It’s about a 5 km ride, which should take around 30 minutes. Make sure to stay on the designated bike lanes where available and be cautious of traffic.
