Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Sule Pagoda, head south on Sule Pagoda Road. After about 500 meters, turn left onto Mahabandoola Road and continue for around 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Bogyoke Aung San Road. Cross the road towards the park and continue walking straight. You'll notice the tall structures of the Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance, which is located on Singuttara Hill. Continue walking straight until you reach the base of the hill, where you will find the entrance to the Shwedagon Pagoda complex.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From the city center, you can take bus number 29 or 34 from the main bus terminal at Anawrahta Road. Board the bus and ask the conductor to let you off at the stop for Shwedagon Pagoda. This should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you disembark, follow the signs leading to the Shwedagon Pagoda. The entrance to the pagoda is located on the western side of Singuttara Hill, which you will see as you approach.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the city. Start your journey from downtown Yangon, heading towards the east on Bogyoke Aung San Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Shwedagon Pagoda Road. Turn left, and you’ll be cycling towards the hill. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. There are bike racks available near the entrance of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
