Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Walvis Bay from your current location in Erongo. From Swakopmund, take the B2 road south for about 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Lagoon Promenade Road. Follow the signs for Walvis Bay. Once in Walvis Bay, turn left onto Lagoon Promenade Road. Continue driving until you see the Flamingo Lagoon on your right, just past the residential area. There is no specific parking lot, but you can park along the roadside.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transport, catch a bus or shuttle from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay. Buses leave regularly from the Swakopmund bus terminal. The fare is typically around N$30-50. Once you arrive at the Walvis Bay bus station, you will need to take a taxi to get to Flamingo Lagoon, which is about 5 kilometers away. Taxi fares in this area are usually around N$100. Ask the taxi driver to take you to Lagoon Promenade Road, and they will know the exact location of Flamingo Lagoon.

• Walking

  If you're already in Walvis Bay and prefer to walk, Flamingo Lagoon is accessible on foot from the town center. Depending on your starting point, it may take around 30-45 minutes. Head towards the waterfront area and then follow Lagoon Promenade Road. It's a scenic route along the coast, providing a lovely view of the lagoon and wildlife, including the flamingos.
