Car

To reach Cape Cross Seal Reserve from Kavango by car, start by heading southwest on the B8 road towards Rundu. Continue on the B8 until you reach the junction with the B1 road near Otavi. Take the B1 south towards Windhoek. After approximately 150 kilometers, look for the turn-off to the C34 road towards Swakopmund. Follow the C34 until you reach the coast, then take the B2 north towards Henties Bay. The Cape Cross Seal Reserve will be on your right approximately 45 kilometers north of Swakopmund. Ensure you have enough fuel, as gas stations are limited along this route. The entrance fee for the reserve is around N$ 80 per person.
Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Rundu to Windhoek. Once in Windhoek, you can catch a bus to Swakopmund. From Swakopmund, you can take a taxi or arrange for a shuttle to Cape Cross Seal Reserve. It's advisable to book the taxi in advance, as availability may vary. The total cost will depend on the bus fares (approximately N$ 300 from Rundu to Windhoek and about N$ 150 from Windhoek to Swakopmund) and taxi/shuttle prices from Swakopmund to Cape Cross, which could be around N$ 500.
