Daan Viljoen Game Reserve: A Natural Retreat in Windhoek

Getting There

• Public Bus

  To get to Daan Viljoen Game Reserve from the city center of Windhoek, head to the main bus station known as the Windhoek Intercape Bus Terminal. From there, take a bus heading towards the western suburbs. You will need to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest bus stop to the reserve, which is often referred to as the Daan Viljoen stop. The journey should take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus stop, you may have to walk a short distance to the reserve entrance, which is about 1 km away.

The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the reserve. Depending on traffic, this trip should take around 20-30 minutes from the city center.

  For the adventurous, you can choose to walk to Daan Viljoen Game Reserve. Start from the city center and head towards the western direction. You will need to navigate through local streets, which may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. A suggested route is to walk along Sam Nujoma Drive, then turn onto the B1 highway, following the signs for the reserve. Please ensure to stay safe and be aware of traffic as you walk.
