Getting there

Walking

If you are in the city center of Windhoek, start at the Independence Avenue, which is the main street. Head east towards the intersection with Robert Mugabe Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Nelson Mandela Avenue. At this intersection, turn left onto Nelson Mandela Avenue and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and cafes on your way, making it a pleasant walk. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you towards Klein Windhoek. Continue until you reach the intersection with C3FR+7HX. The War Memorial & Cross of Sacrifice will be situated on your left side, visible from the road.

Walking

If you are near the Katutura area, start by heading towards Dr. Kenneth Kaunda Street. Walk northeast on this street until you reach the intersection with Sam Nujoma Drive. Turn right onto Sam Nujoma Drive and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Bismarck Street. Turn left onto Bismarck Street and follow it until you come to C3FR+7HX. The War Memorial & Cross of Sacrifice will be located just ahead on your right side, surrounded by a park area.

Walking

From the Windhoek Central Railway Station, exit the station and head southwest on Bahnhof Street. After a short walk, turn left onto Independence Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Robert Mugabe Avenue. Turn right and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Nelson Mandela Avenue. At this point, turn left onto Nelson Mandela Avenue and continue walking until you reach C3FR+7HX. The War Memorial & Cross of Sacrifice will be on your left-hand side.
