Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Birendranagar, the nearest city. Head west on the Prithvi Highway (H12) for about 10 kilometers. You will pass through a few small villages. Look for signs indicating the turnoff for Bulbule Lake, which should be clearly marked. Follow the unpaved road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the lake. Note that the road may be rough, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. Parking is available near the lake.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Bulbule Lake using public transportation, start at the Birendranagar bus station. Take a local bus heading towards Surkhet, which is a common route. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Bulbule Lake turnoff. This ride will cost you around NPR 50-100. Once you arrive at the turnoff, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers down the unpaved road to reach the lake. Alternatively, you could hire a local taxi from the bus stop for around NPR 200-300 to take you directly to the lake.
Motorbike
If you prefer a motorbike, you can rent one in Birendranagar. Follow the same route as the car directions, taking the Prithvi Highway west for about 10 kilometers. Afterward, take the marked turnoff for Bulbule Lake and continue on the unpaved road for about 5 kilometers. A rental will typically cost around NPR 700-1000 per day. Ensure you wear a helmet and drive carefully, as the road conditions may vary.
Walking
For the adventurous, you can opt to walk from Birendranagar to Bulbule Lake. This will take roughly 2-3 hours depending on your walking speed. Head west from the city center on the Prithvi Highway, and once you reach the turnoff for Bulbule Lake, follow the dirt road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the lake. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water and snacks for the journey.
