Walking
Start from Sauraha, a popular tourist hub in Chitwan. Head east on the main road, which is the Sauraha-Chitwan Highway. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left path which leads towards Khairahani. Follow this road for another 3 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views along the way. You will pass through local villages and farmland. Keep an eye out for directional signs towards Ghokrella. Once you reach Ghokrella, continue straight until you see signs for दराई वोटे ताल/Darai Bote Lake. The lake is a short walk from the main road.
Bicycle
If you can rent a bicycle in Sauraha, start by cycling east on the Sauraha-Chitwan Highway. After about 1.5 kilometers, take the left fork towards Khairahani. Continue cycling for approximately 3 kilometers, passing through local villages. Look for signs indicating Ghokrella or Darai Bote Lake. When you arrive in Ghokrella, park your bike and walk the rest of the way to the lake, which is only a short distance from the main road.
Rickshaw
From Sauraha, you can hire a local rickshaw. Ask the driver to take you to Ghokrella. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Ghokrella, the driver can drop you off at the nearest point to Darai Bote Lake. From there, it’s a short walk to the lake.
Local Bus
Take a local bus from Sauraha to Khairahani. Buses leave frequently, and the ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Khairahani bus stop, you can either walk or take a short rickshaw ride to Ghokrella. Follow signs to Darai Bote Lake, which is located nearby.
