Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car from Pokhara, take the Prithvi Highway (also known as the Pokhara-Baglung Highway) towards Baglung. After approximately 85 km, you will reach the town of Baglung. From Baglung, continue on the road towards Beni. The distance from Baglung to Beni is about 34 km. Once in Beni, follow the signs directing you to Kowang. The road to Kowang is well marked, and it is approximately 20 km from Beni. After you reach Kowang, look for local signs indicating the path to Dhaulagiri Parvat, which is located at PG88+JM, Kowang.

  • Public Transportation

    From Pokhara, you can take a bus to Baglung, which takes about 2-3 hours. Buses leave frequently from the bus park in Pokhara. Once in Baglung, you can catch another local bus to Beni, which takes around 1 hour. After reaching Beni, look for local buses or jeeps heading to Kowang. This last leg may take around 1 hour as well. Once you arrive in Kowang, you can ask locals for directions to Dhaulagiri Parvat, which should be accessible by foot or a short local transport ride.

    If you prefer trekking, you can start from Kowang. There are well-trodden paths leading to Dhaulagiri Parvat. The trek may take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
