Getting There

• Car

  From the main town in Dolpo, you will need to drive towards Ranmamaikot. The route is primarily along the Karnali Highway, which is a scenic but narrow road. Keep an eye out for local traffic and possible landslides. As you approach Ranmamaikot, look for signage indicating the direction to दिपेन्द्र ताल. The final stretch requires navigating through a dirt road that leads directly to the lake. It’s advisable to have a local driver who knows the area, especially if you are unfamiliar with mountain driving.

• Public Transportation

  From Dolpo, board a local bus heading towards Ranmamaikot. The journey may take several hours due to the road conditions and stops along the way. Once you arrive at Ranmamaikot, you can either ask locals for directions to दिपेन्द्र ताल or hire a local vehicle (like a jeep) to take you there. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting the journey. The last part of the trip will require navigating on foot or with the local vehicle through the dirt paths leading to the lake.

  If you prefer an adventurous route, you can hike from Ranmamaikot to दिपेन्द्र ताल. This hike will take approximately 2-3 hours.
