Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Koshi Zone, drive towards the nearest major city, which is Biratnagar. From Biratnagar, take the East-West Highway (Mahendra Highway) heading west. After approximately 45 kilometers, take the exit towards the Kathmandu Highway (Prithvi Highway). Continue driving for about 160 kilometers until you reach Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, follow the signs to Rani Pokhari, which is located in the central part of the city, at latitude 27.7080074 and longitude 85.315722. Parking is available near the pond, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking.

• Public Transportation

  Begin your journey by taking a bus from your location in Koshi Zone to Biratnagar. The bus fare is typically around NPR 200-300. Once you arrive in Biratnagar, find a bus that goes to Kathmandu; the fare for this leg is usually around NPR 1,000 to NPR 1,500. The bus ride can take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours depending on traffic. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you can take a local taxi or a rickshaw to reach Rani Pokhari. The taxi fare should be around NPR 300-500. Rani Pokhari is a well-known landmark, so drivers will easily take you there.

  If you're already in a nearby town or village within Koshi Zone, consider hiring a local taxi to take you to the nearest bus terminal. Once at the terminal, you can board a bus heading to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, you may need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach Rani Pokhari, depending on your drop-off point. Ensure you have a map or ask locals for directions as Rani Pokhari is centrally located and well-known.
