If you are in Lumbini, start at the Lumbini Garden entrance. Walk towards the main road (Lumbini - Butwal Road). From the entrance, it is about a 10-minute walk. Turn left onto the main road and walk straight for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Butwal road. At this junction, you will see a sign pointing towards Butwal. Continue straight; you will pass some local shops and eateries along the way.

From the Lumbini Garden, you can catch a local bus or microbus heading towards Butwal. The bus station is located near the main entrance of Lumbini. Buses leave frequently, and the fare is very economical (around 50 NPR). The journey will take about 30 minutes. Inform the driver you want to stop at Jitgadi Fort, and they will help you with the stop. Once you get off, you will have to walk for about 15 minutes uphill to reach the fort.
