Public Transportation
To reach Larke La Pass, you should first travel to the town of Arughat, which serves as the starting point for the Manaslu Circuit trek. From Kathmandu, take a local bus or hire a private jeep to Arughat. The bus ride typically takes around 7-8 hours and costs approximately NPR 700-1000. Upon arriving in Arughat, you can hire a guide and porter, as you will need them for the trek to Larke La Pass.
Trekking
After reaching Arughat, start your trek towards Samagaun, which is the nearest village to Larke La Pass. The trek from Arughat to Samagaun will take approximately 5-6 days, depending on your pace and the number of stops you make along the way. Follow the trail via Soti Khola, Machha Khola, Jagat, Deng, Namrung, and finally reach Samagaun. Make sure to acclimatize properly as you ascend and enjoy the stunning views of the Manaslu range along the way.
Trekking from Samagaun
Once you reach Samagaun, you will need to prepare for the final leg of your journey to Larke La Pass. Start your trek early in the morning and follow the Larkya La Trail. The trek to Larke La Pass from Samagaun takes about 6-8 hours. Make sure to carry sufficient water, food, and warm clothing as the weather can change rapidly. Once you reach the pass, enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains before descending back to Samagaun.
Return Journey
After visiting Larke La Pass, you will return to Samagaun and then retrace your steps back to Arughat. This will be a multi-day trek, and you can choose to stay in the same villages along the way as you did on the way up. Once back in Arughat, you can catch a bus or hire a jeep to return to Kathmandu.
