Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head east towards the main road. Follow the road signs that indicate the way to Panauti. The path is well-marked, and you will be walking downhill. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the junction to Panauti. Continue straight on this road. After another 45 minutes, you will arrive in the town of Panauti. Once in Panauti, ask locals for directions to Indreshwor Mahadev Temple located on Indreshwor Rd. It should be a short walk from the town center.
Hiking
For a more scenic route, consider taking the hiking trail from Nagarkot towards Panauti. Start from the main viewpoint in Nagarkot and follow the marked trail that leads through the forest. The trail eventually merges with the road to Panauti. This hike can take around 2 hours, so be prepared with water and snacks. Upon reaching the road, continue walking towards Panauti and follow the same directions to Indreshwor Mahadev Temple from the previous guidance.
Local Bus
If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local bus from Nagarkot to Panauti. Head to the local bus station in Nagarkot, which is near the main square. Look for a bus heading to Panauti; the fare is very affordable. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Panauti, walk to Indreshwor Rd, where the temple is located. It's a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
