Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, start at the main lookout point where you can see the sunrise views. Head south towards the main road. Continue walking along the road for about 30 minutes until you reach the fork in the road near the entrance to Nagarkot. Take the left path, following the signs for Panauti. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the hills and valleys around you. After about 1 hour, you will reach a small village called Changu Narayan. Continue walking straight, and you will find a sign directing you towards Panauti. After another 45 minutes of walking, you will arrive in Panauti, where you can explore the temples and local culture.
Trekking
For a more adventurous route to Panauti from Nagarkot, start your trek from the Nagarkot view tower. Follow the trail that leads downwards into the forest. This path will take you through lush greenery and offer stunning views of the Himalayan range. After about 1.5 hours of trekking, you will reach the small village of Bhotechaur. From there, follow the signs to Panauti. The trek will take around 2 hours from Bhotechaur to Panauti, making the total trek approximately 3.5 hours. Ensure you have proper trekking shoes and water with you.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and want to cycle, rent a bicycle in Nagarkot. Start from the main square and head down towards the main road. Turn left and follow the road signs for Panauti. The route is mostly downhill, making it easier to cycle. Expect the ride to take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Be cautious of the traffic and ensure you wear a helmet. You will pass through several small villages along the way, so take the opportunity to stop and enjoy the local scenery.
