Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head east on the main road. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road near the Nagarkot Tower. Take the left fork, which leads toward Changunarayan. Follow this road as it winds downhill through the forested area. After about 30-40 minutes of walking, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Changu Narayan Temple. You will pass through a few small villages, where you can ask locals for directions if needed. Once you arrive at Changunarayan, the temple will be visible on a hilltop. Follow the path leading up to the temple entrance.

Rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Nagarkot. Start by cycling east on the main road. When you reach the fork near Nagarkot Tower, take the left fork towards Changunarayan. The ride downhill is scenic but be cautious of traffic and the uneven road. The journey should take approximately 20-25 minutes. You'll pass through small villages where you can experience local life. Upon reaching Changunarayan, park your bicycle and walk up the path to the Changu Narayan Temple.

For a more adventurous route, take a hiking trail from Nagarkot to Changu Narayan. Start from the main square in Nagarkot and head towards the trail marked for Changunarayan. This trail involves a more rugged path, so wear appropriate footwear. The hike may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Along the way, you might come across local flora and fauna. Follow the trail signs, and once you reach the temple area, you will see the stunning Changu Narayan Temple perched on a hill.
