Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Namche Bazaar, head towards the Everest Base Camp Trekking Route, which is well-marked. Start at the main square where the shops and restaurants are located. Walk towards the left side of the square, and follow the narrow path that leads uphill. You will pass by several lodges and shops. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes until you see a sign for Everest Base Camp. The path will be clear and you might encounter trekkers coming back from the Base Camp. Keep following the trail; it will take you directly to the Everest Base Camp area. The total distance is approximately 1.5 kilometers from the center of Namche.

    If you are closer to the Namche Museum, exit the museum and head down the steps towards the main square. Once you reach the square, follow the same path as described above towards the Everest Base Camp Trekking Route. The trek from the museum will take around 10-12 minutes.

    From the Everest View Hotel, follow the signs back down towards Namche Bazaar. After descending about 20 minutes, you will reach the main square. Once there, take the path leading towards the Everest Base Camp Trekking Route. This will add about 30 minutes to your walk but offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains.
