Getting There

Walking
From the Patan Durbar Square, head east towards the main road (Mangal Bazar). Turn left onto the main road and continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several shops and local eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the large white stupa in the distance, which is the Boudhanath Stupa. As you approach the stupa, you will see the entrance on your right.

Public Transport (Microbus)
From the Patan Durbar Square, walk to the nearest microbus stop at Jawlakhel. Catch a microbus heading towards Boudhanath. The fare is very inexpensive. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Boudhanath. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, just follow the crowd towards the stupa; it’s a short walk from the drop-off point.

Rickshaw
From Patan Durbar Square, find a cycle rickshaw or auto rickshaw. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Ask the driver to take you to Boudhanath Stupa. The ride will take approximately 20-25 minutes depending on traffic, and you will be dropped off right at the entrance of the stupa.
