If you are starting from Patan Durbar Square, head southeast towards the main road (Mangal Bazar). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Pulchowk Rd. Turn left onto Pulchowk Rd and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Jawalakhel Rd. Turn right onto Jawalakhel Rd and walk for approximately 5 more minutes. The Central Zoo will be on your left side.

From the Patan Museum, exit towards the main square and head northwest towards Mangal Bazar. Once you reach Mangal Bazar, turn right to Pulchowk Rd and walk for about 15 minutes. At the intersection with Jawalakhel Rd, turn left and walk for another 5 minutes. The Central Zoo will be on your left.
