Getting There

• Walking

  To reach Nagarkot from the center of Patan, head north towards the Patan Durbar Square. Once you reach the square, look for the signs pointing towards Bhaktapur. Follow the road leading out of the square, which will take you to the Ring Road. At the Ring Road, you can either take a local bus to Bhaktapur or continue walking towards Bhaktapur. If you choose to walk, keep heading northeast for about 8 kilometers until you reach Bhaktapur. From Bhaktapur, look for a bus heading to Nagarkot. The bus station in Bhaktapur is located near the main square. The bus ride to Nagarkot takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Nagarkot, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the viewpoint area.

• Local Bus

  From Patan, make your way to the nearest bus stop that serves routes to Bhaktapur. You can find these bus stops along the main roads. Board a local bus heading to Bhaktapur. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Bhaktapur, go to the bus terminal near the main square and look for a bus heading to Nagarkot. This bus ride will take around 30 minutes as well. Upon arriving in Nagarkot, ask locals for directions to the famous viewpoints.

• Taxi (if available)

  If you prefer a more direct route and can find a taxi, you can ask the driver to take you to Nagarkot. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The drive takes approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions. The taxi will take you directly to the main viewpoints in Nagarkot, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayan range.
