Getting there

Walking

If you are currently near Phewa Lake, you can easily walk to various attractions around the lake. Start at the Lakeside area, where you’ll find numerous signs directing you towards the lakeside promenade. Head towards the north end of the lake, which is about a 20-minute walk from Lakeside. You will pass several shops, cafes, and local vendors along the way, making it a pleasant stroll with beautiful views of the lake.

Boat

For a unique experience, consider taking a boat ride on Phewa Lake. You can rent a traditional wooden boat at various points along the lakeside for around NPR 500 to NPR 1,500, depending on the duration and whether you want a paddle boat or a rowboat with a guide. Head to the boat rental stations located near the main Lakeside area. Enjoy the serene waters and the stunning views of the surrounding mountains as you glide across the lake.

Bicycle Rental

You can also rent a bicycle to explore the area surrounding Phewa Lake. There are several rental shops along the Lakeside promenade. A typical rental costs about NPR 300 to NPR 700 per day. Once you have a bicycle, cycle along the lakeside, which has dedicated paths. You can easily reach the Peace Pagoda, located on a hilltop with a scenic view of the lake, which is approximately 30 minutes away by bike.

Local Buses

If you wish to venture further into Pokhara, local buses are available from the Lakeside area. Look for the bus stops near the Pokhara Tourist Bus Park. The fare is usually around NPR 20 to NPR 50, depending on your destination. Buses run frequently, but it’s best to check the schedule or ask locals for the next departure. This will allow you to explore other parts of Pokhara while enjoying the local atmosphere.

Rickshaw

If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can hire a cycle rickshaw to take you to your desired location around Phewa Lake. You can find rickshaw drivers near popular spots along the lake. Discuss the fare before starting your journey; typical fares range from NPR 200 to NPR 700, depending on the distance.
