Getting There

  • Walking

Start from the Lakeside area of Pokhara, which is the most popular tourist spot. Head towards the main road (Lake Side Road) and walk towards the north. Continue walking until you reach the Fewa Lake. Once you reach the lake, you will see a path leading to the World Peace Pagoda. Follow this path along the lakeshore, and you will come across a boat dock. You can take a boat ride across the lake to the other side where the trail leading to the Pagoda begins. The boat ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once on the other side, follow the signs indicating the path to the World Peace Pagoda, which is a steep climb of about 30-45 minutes. The Pagoda is located on a hilltop, offering stunning views of the Pokhara valley and the Himalayas.

  • Hiking

If you prefer a hiking route, start from the Lakeside area and head towards the Shanti Stupa Trail. Look for signs or ask locals for the 'World Peace Pagoda Trail.' The hike will take you through beautiful forests and up a series of steps. This route is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours long, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as it can be strenuous.

  • Guided Tour

Consider booking a guided tour from one of the many travel agencies in Lakeside. A guide can take you to the World Peace Pagoda, provide insights about the history and significance of the site, and ensure that you have a smooth experience. Most tours will include a boat ride across Fewa Lake followed by a hike up to the Pagoda.
