Getting There

• Car

  From the entrance of Shey Phoksundo National Park, head towards the town of Dunai. Follow the road signs directing you to Dunai, which is approximately 2 hours away by car. Once you reach Dunai, continue on the main road towards Dhauligadh. The journey to Dhauligadh from Dunai will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. The last few kilometers might require navigating unpaved roads, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. Keep an eye out for local signage pointing towards Dhauligadh as you approach.

• Public Transportation

  From Shey Phoksundo National Park, you can take a local bus or jeep heading to Dunai. The buses typically leave in the morning and may not run frequently. Confirm the schedule with locals. Once you arrive in Dunai, you can catch another local jeep or bus that goes towards Dhauligadh. The total journey via public transport may take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours, depending on waiting times and road conditions. • Walking/Trekking

  If you're feeling adventurous and fit, you can trek from the nearest village to Dhauligadh. Start from the village of Hanku, which is a short distance from Dhauligadh. The trek will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the trail leading from Hanku, which is well-trodden, but ensure you have a local guide or a map, as it can be easy to get lost in the rugged terrain. This option is ideal for those looking to experience the natural beauty up close.
