The nearest major city to Orchha is Jhansi. From Terai, take the East-West Highway (also known as the Mahendra Highway) and head towards the border. After crossing into India, follow signs towards Jhansi. Once in Jhansi, take the NH 39 road towards Orchha. The drive from Jhansi to Orchha is approximately 16 kilometers and should take about 30 minutes.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Orchha via public transport from Terai, first take a local bus or a shared taxi to the nearest major bus terminal in the Indian border town. Once you reach the border, you will need to go through immigration. After crossing into India, board a bus heading to Jhansi. The bus journey will take around 4-5 hours. Upon reaching Jhansi, you can catch a local bus or a taxi to Orchha, which is about 16 kilometers away. The local bus will cost you around INR 30-50, while a taxi may cost around INR 400-600.
