Although walking is the best option, if you are coming from a bit farther away in Amsterdam, you can take the tram to Amsterdam Central Station. From there, exit the station and walk south towards the city center. Turn left onto the Oudebrugsteeg, which will lead you directly to the Red Light District. Once you reach the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, find number 39. Tram tickets cost around €3.20 and can be bought at ticket machines at the tram stops.
