Walking
From Delft City Center, head towards the Markt square. Once you reach the square, look for the large church known as the Nieuwe Kerk. From there, exit the square onto the Gravenstraat, which will lead you out of the historic center. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Voldersgracht. Take a left onto Voldersgracht and keep walking until you reach the train station (Delft Station). From the station, take a train towards The Hague (Den Haag). The journey will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Den Haag Centraal station, exit and look for tram line 1 or 17 towards 'Scheveningen'. Get off at the 'Lange Voorhout' stop. You will find the Thorbecke Monument just a short walk away.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in Delft. Start at the Markt square and head south towards the City Hall. Take the Zuidwal road until it turns into the Oude Delft. Continue along the Oude Delft, which will lead you to the train station (Delft Station). After that, follow the bike lanes to The Hague. It’s about a 30-minute bike ride. Once in The Hague, head towards the Lange Voorhout, where the Thorbecke Monument is located. The pathway is mostly flat and bike-friendly.
Public Transport
From any central location in Delft, walk to the nearest bus stop and take bus line 63 towards The Hague. The bus will take you directly to The Hague Central Station (Den Haag Centraal). From there, transfer to tram line 1 or 17 towards 'Scheveningen'. Get off at the 'Lange Voorhout' stop. The Thorbecke Monument will be within walking distance from the tram stop. The entire journey may take around 40-50 minutes, depending on waiting times.
