Public Transportation
From the city center of Groningen, head to the main bus station (Groningen Busstation). Take bus line 10 towards 'Zuidhorn'. The bus will take approximately 30 minutes to reach the stop 'De Veen'. Once you arrive at 'De Veen', exit the bus and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will see Het Veen on your left, a beautiful lake surrounded by nature.
Walking
If you are near the Groningen Central Station, start by walking towards the city center. Go down the 'Grote Markt' street until you reach 'Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat'. Continue down this street until you reach 'Zonnelaan'. Turn left on 'Zonnelaan' and walk straight for about 20 minutes. You will reach Het Veen, a lovely lake area ideal for relaxation.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Groningen. Head south from the center, following the signs towards 'Hoogkerk'. Cycle along 'Osloweg' and then take a left onto 'Schilderswijk'. Continue on this road for about 15 minutes, and you will arrive at Het Veen. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle.
