Walking
If you are in the center of Haarlem, start at the Grote Markt. From here, head west on the Gedempte Oude Gracht until you reach the intersection with the Gierstraat. Turn left onto Gierstraat and continue until you reach the Zijlstraat. Take a right onto Zijlstraat and walk straight until you reach the railway station, Haarlem Station. Once at the station, take the train towards Hoorn. The journey takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at Hoorn Station, exit and follow the signs to the city center. Walk straight onto the Kerkstraat and continue until you reach the Roode Steen square. The Westfriesmuseum is located at Roode Steen 1.
Public Transport
From Haarlem, walk to the Haarlem Station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the Grote Markt. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for Hoorn. Take a train heading towards Hoorn; this journey will take approximately 30 minutes. When you arrive at Hoorn Station, follow the signs to the exit. Once outside, head towards the city center by walking along the Kerkstraat until you reach Roode Steen square. The Westfriesmuseum is located at Roode Steen 1.
