    Getting There

    Walking

    Start at the Haarlem train station (Haarlem Centraal). Exit the station and head south on Stationsplein towards Kruisweg. Continue on Kruisweg for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Zijlweg. Turn left onto Zijlweg and walk for approximately 300 meters. You will come to the Zijlpoort, a historical gate. Continue straight and follow the road as it becomes the Zijlweg. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the intersection with the Spaarne River. Cross the bridge. Once you cross, turn left onto the river's edge and continue walking along the water for about 800 meters until you reach the center of Haarlem. At the main square (Grote Markt), you can find signs directing you to Amsterdam. Take a train from Haarlem Station towards Amsterdam Centraal. In Amsterdam, exit the train and head towards the tram stops. Take Tram 1 towards Centraal Station and get off at the 'Westermarkt' stop. From there, walk down Herengracht and look for Cromhout House at number 366.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Haarlem, such as 'Haarlem Bike Rental' near the train station. Once you have your bike, head south on Stationsplein and turn onto Kruisweg. Continue on Kruisweg until you reach Zijlweg, then turn left. Cycle along Zijlweg for about 1 kilometer. After you cross the Zijlpoort, continue straight to the Spaarne River. Take a left along the river and follow it towards Haarlem's city center. Once you reach the Grote Markt, follow the signs for Amsterdam and bike to Haarlem train station. Take a direct train to Amsterdam Centraal. From Amsterdam Centraal, rent another bike or walk to Herengracht. Cromhout House is located at number 366.
