Continue on the N9 for approximately 20 kilometers. Take the exit towards Akersloot. Follow signs for Akersloot, and once you arrive in the village, look for signs directing you to Hempolder. The nature preserve is located on the outskirts of Akersloot, and there is parking available nearby.

To reach Hempolder via public transportation, take a train from your nearest station to Alkmaar. Trains to Alkmaar are frequent from various locations in the IJsselmeer Polders. Upon arriving at Alkmaar station, exit the station and catch bus line 160 towards Akersloot. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Akersloot, School' stop. From there, it’s a short 15-minute walk to Hempolder, following the signs for the nature preserve.
