Walking
If you are starting from the city center of Leiden, make your way to the main train station, Leiden Centraal. From there, take a train heading to Rotterdam Centraal, which is a direct route. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Rotterdam Centraal, exit the station and follow the signs for the subway. Take the subway line D (direction De Akkers) or line E (direction Slinge) and get off at the stop 'Beurs'. Upon exiting the subway station, head towards the direction of the harbor, following the signs for Oudehaven. Walk straight for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at Oudehaven, which is a beautiful harbor area in Rotterdam.

From your location in Leiden, head to Leiden Centraal station to catch a train to Rotterdam. Look for trains that go to Rotterdam Centraal, which run frequently throughout the day. After about a 30-minute journey, you will arrive at Rotterdam Centraal. Once there, transfer to the tram system by following the signs for trams. Take tram line 7 or 20 towards 'Woudestein' or 'Haringvliet'. Get off at the 'Leuvehaven' stop. From Leuvehaven, walk along the waterfront for about 5 minutes to reach Oudehaven, a picturesque harbor perfect for strolling.
