Bus
To reach Waterland in Amsterdam from Leiden, first walk to the nearest bus stop. If you are near the Leiden Central Station, head towards the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for Bus Line 50 towards Amsterdam. Board the bus and enjoy the ride. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive at the 'Amsterdam-Noord' stop. From there, it's a short walk to Waterland.
Train and Tram
Start at Leiden Central Station. Take a train towards Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central, follow the signs to the tram station. Board Tram 26 towards 'Noorderpark'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Buikslotermeerplein' stop. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to Waterland.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike in Leiden. Head towards the N206 road, following the signs for Amsterdam. The ride is approximately 20 kilometers and will take around 1 hour. Once you reach Amsterdam, navigate to the northern area, and follow the signs to Waterland. Make sure you have a map or a GPS to help you with the route.
