Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Leiden, head towards the Leiden Central Station. Follow Breestraat street towards the south until you reach the intersection with the Lammenschansweg. Turn left onto Lammenschansweg and continue straight. You'll pass several shops and cafes. After about 15 minutes of walking, you'll reach the bus stop called 'Leiden Centraal.' From there, take bus line 43 towards Amsterdam. After approximately 40 minutes, get off at the 'Amsterdam Centraal' stop. Once you arrive in Amsterdam, walk towards the main train station exit and follow the signs towards the 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal.' It should take about 10 minutes to walk to the statue, which is located at Oudezijds Voorburgwal 14.

• Train

  Start at Leiden Central Station and purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Centraal. The train departs frequently, typically every 15 minutes. The journey will take around 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head towards the front entrance facing the river. From there, walk straight down to Damrak street and turn left. Continue to walk until you reach the 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal.' The Major Alida Bosshardt Statue is located at number 14, just a few minutes' walk from the main street.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Leiden. Start your journey by heading out of the city center towards the bike path leading to Amsterdam. Follow the signs for the A44 and then merge onto the N206. Continue to follow the signs towards Amsterdam. The trip will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you reach Amsterdam, park your bike at a bike rack near the city center. From there, walk to Oudezijds Voorburgwal, and you will find the Major Alida Bosshardt Statue at number 14.
