Public Transport
Start at Maastricht's main train station, Maastricht Centraal. From there, take bus number 5 towards 'Lanaken'. The bus departs frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop called 'Neerharen'. Once you disembark, walk straight along the Neerharenstraat for about 10 minutes. You will eventually reach the intersection with Hocht. Turn left onto Hocht, and Kasteel van Hocht will be located a short distance down this road.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the city center of Maastricht, specifically from the Vrijthof square. Head northeast on the St. Bernardusstraat, then take a left onto the Sint Servaasbrug (bridge) and cross the Maas river. After crossing, continue straight onto the Maastrichter Brugstraat road. You will then follow the road signs towards Lanaken. The walk will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. As you approach Lanaken, keep an eye out for the signs indicating the direction of Kasteel van Hocht, and follow Hocht road until you reach the castle.
Bicycle
For a more active route, consider renting a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Maastricht. Start at the city center and follow the bike path towards the Maas river. Ride across the Sint Servaasbrug and continue onto Maastrichter Brugstraat. After about 30 minutes of cycling, you will reach the outskirts of Lanaken. Follow the signs towards 'Neerharen' and then onto Hocht road. Kasteel van Hocht is about 5 minutes away from the main road on Hocht.
