Train
To travel by train from Rijnmond to Amsterdam, first go to the nearest train station in your area, such as Rotterdam Central Station. Purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Central Station, which typically costs around €15-€20 and takes about 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and walk towards the Dam Square, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk. Head southwest on Stationsplein, continue onto Damrak, and follow the road until you reach Dam Square.

You can take a bus from Rijnmond to Amsterdam, which may take longer than the train but can be a more budget-friendly option. The fare is usually around €12-€15. Upon arriving at the bus terminal in Amsterdam, walk towards Amsterdam Central Station and follow the walking directions mentioned above to reach Dam Square.
Tram
For those already in Amsterdam, you can use the tram to reach Dam Square. Trams 1, 2, and 5 all stop at the Dam stop. If you're in the vicinity of the central area, locate the nearest tram stop, purchase a ticket (around €3 for a single ride), and board the tram heading towards Dam. The ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Once you get off at Dam stop, you will be right at Dam Square.
