If you're traveling by car, start from the main town of Den Burg, which is the largest town on Texel Island. Head southwest on the N99 towards De Koog. Continue on N99 for about 6 km until you reach the intersection with Pelikaanweg. Turn right onto Pelikaanweg. After about 2 km, you will find the Sommeltjespad trailhead. There is parking available nearby for a small fee.

To reach Sommeltjespad by public transportation, take the local bus number 28 from Den Burg to De Koog. The bus departs regularly and the journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at De Koog, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 km to reach the Sommeltjespad. From the bus stop, head southwest on the N99 for about 1 km, then turn left onto Pelikaanweg. Follow Pelikaanweg for about 500 meters and you will arrive at the Sommeltjespad trailhead.
